This is the BEST small plate Mexican food in the Bay Area. The staff is super friendly, the mezcal selection is varied and excellent, and the food is superb. The tacos se camarón, cochino ya public, mole, and chiles en nogada are amazing. The last one is only available during pomegranate season. Super delicious and well balanced. This is a popular dish to make but few master it like Gloria at Tamarindo.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area after moving here a year ago. The atmosphere is elegant casual. I love my casual taco joints, but not for a night out with my guy. The food here is fresh, delicious and authentic. We had the cochinita pibil last night and it was sooooo delicious. We've never had a bad meal here. The cocktails are expertly prepared (love my spicy mezcal margarita!). It's in a great part of Oakland that allows for you to walk around after your meal and bar hop. This place is a definite yes!

excellent and authentic (I came with a friend visiting from Mexico, she wanted Mexican food confirmed) and inexpensive place on 8th in downtown Oakland (an area that's revitalized)
everything was good, you can order typical taqueria-style. I had two fish tacos which were great. frescas change daily. you order at the counter and get a number flag and they bring it to the table

Great Mexican tapas place. The drinks and food were pretty impressively good. You can absolutely taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients.
The plates are a little on the expensive side, so a bit tough to try them all unless you bring a few folks with you. -

I want to this amazing restaurant on Thursday night. Authentic Mexican restaurant with great food selection. I got guacamole, beer, roasted chillies, and corn. Everything I ordered was delicious. The chillies were spicy but delicious.
